DAY 01. PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT – KUMAI SPEEDBOAT HARBOR – RIMBA LODGE – CAMP 01, TANJUNG HARAPAN (L.D) Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, our guide will pick you up at the airport arrival gate. After that, our guide will take you directly to Kumai Village by car (approx. 20 minutes). You will meet our team at the speedboat harbor, and then continue directly to Camp One in Tanjung Puting National Park. Lunch will be served at around 12:00 WIB. After lunch, our guide will take you to the Information Center before continuing to the orangutan feeding area at 15:00 WIB. You can stay and enjoy the feeding platform area for approximately 2 hours. After the feeding session, you will return to the speedboat and continue exploring the river to observe wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, birds, wild orangutans, and other animals. After the river exploration, you will return directly to Rimba Lodge in Sekonyer Village. In your free time, you may walk around the village and observe the daily activities of local people in Sekonyer Village. Free time.
DAY 02. RIMBA LODGE – CAMP 2, PONDOK TANGGUI – CAMP 3 LEAKEY – RIMBA LODGE (B.L.D) After breakfast at 07:00–08:00 WIB, our guide will pick you up at Rimba Lodge and take you directly to Camp 2, Pondok Tanggui, to see the orangutan feeding time at 09:00 WIB. You can spend approximately 2 hours at the feeding station. Afterward, our guide will take you back to the speedboat and continue upriver for approximately 40 minutes to Camp 3 Leakey. Lunch will be served at Pondok Ambung around 11:30–12:00 WIB. Pondok Ambung is one of the tropical rainforest research stations and also a research center for proboscis monkeys. After lunch, the journey continues to Camp Leakey Harbor. Our guide will take you to the Information Center (IC), where you can see photographs of Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas, one of the founders and leading researchers of orangutan conservation in Central Borneo since 1971 at Tanjung Puting National Park (TNTP). After that, our guide will lead a short walk of approximately 10 minutes to the feeding platform area. While waiting for the feeding time at 14:00 WIB, you may observe orangutans, and sometimes gibbons or wild pigs around the feeding platform. You can stay at the feeding platform for approximately 2–2.5 hours before returning to the speedboat. On the way back to Rimba Lodge, the guide may stop along the river so you can observe wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, birds, wild orangutans, and other animals. Afterward, continue directly back to Rimba Lodge in Sekonyer Village area. During your free time, you may walk around the village and observe local community activities. Free time.
DAY 03. RIMBA LODGE – KUMAI SPEEDBOAT HARBOR – PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT (B) After breakfast at around 07:00–08:00 WIB, our guide will pick you up by speedboat from Rimba Lodge and transfer you back to Kumai Village. From Kumai, our guide will take you directly to Pangkalan Bun Airport by car. Upon arrival at the airport, our guide will assist you in checking your flight schedule and ensure your flight is on time before escorting you to the airport waiting room. After that, our guide will say goodbye. End of Tour
NOTE This Orangutan Tour is offered as an alternative during the high season in July and August, especially when regular private houseboats are unavailable. In this case, we can offer a private long speedboat with a capacity of up to 8 people.
